  • THE Chedworth Society annual general meeting originally scheduled for last evening, April 13 has been postponed until Wednesday, April 27.
  • CHEDWORTH Silver Band have been practicing some new music for their concert at Chedworth Village Hall on Saturday, April 23. The Band had to rehearse at Yanworth Club but the program has now been confirmed as spanning a 17th Century Charpentier Trumpet tune, Waltzes, Radetsky March. English Country Garden, Glenn Miller even some Lady Gaga with a patriotic St George's Day finale with singalong items.
  • TICKETS are also available for Guiting Music Festival’s concert on Friday, April 29, which features the Behn String Quartet, Katie Oswin and Alicia Berendse –- violin, Lydia Abell –- viola, Ghislaine McMullin –- Violoncello.   • CHEDWORTH village hall has a new telephone provider, DrayTEL and a new phone number 01285 343107 using Voip over their new Gigaclear superfast fibre broadband.
  • GIGACLEAR have connected a number of properties in Chedworth and were laying cables down Well Hill towards Lower Chedworth last week.
  • THE Chedworth village tidy up and litter pick organised by the Parish Council this Saturday, April 16. Meet at the village hall at 9am. Gloves bags and litter pickers will be available.
  • THE mobile library makes its monthly visit to the village hall carpark this Wednesday, April 20 for two hours from 10.15am.

  • STARS and supper, an astronomical evening with the Chipping Norton Amateur Astronomy Group on Saturday, April 16, 6pm-10pm. After a delicious two-course meal, let these stargazers guide you through the night sky and look through a wide range of powerful telescopes to observe the moon, planets and stars in the atmospheric setting of the Cotswolds Discovery Centre at the Old Prison. Booking is essential, please ring 01451 861563.
  • THE mobile library will be in the Market Place on Wednesday, April 20, 2.15-4.15pm. The library carries a good selection of adult and children’s books.
  • NORTHLEACH Town Council’s annual parish meeting takes place on Wednesday, April 20 at 7pm. This annual meeting is an opportunity to hear a round up of last year’s activities plus guest speakers. The agenda is on the council noticeboards and online. Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be available before the meeting.
  • THE Old Prison hosts a talk on Victorian model farms on Wednesday, April 20, 2.30-3.30pm. William Evans will be presenting details on the various model farms set up in Gloucestershire in the Victorian era. Entrance is £5 which includes refreshments.
  • JOIN the North Cotswold Ornithological Society on Saturday, April 23 for an easy three -mile walk for 'early birds' around the Northleach area. Price £10 to include a full English breakfast afterwards at the Cotswolds Discovery Centre at the Old Prison in Northleach. To book please call 01451 861563.
