SNOOPY the beagle dog who went missing was found yesterday evening by Sapperton Church.

Three-year-old Snoopy was walking in Sapperton woods yesterday at 11.30am with owners Kiri Weeks, 32, and Dan Thomson, 33, when he disappeared.

He was, however, found yesterday evening when Kiri and Dan, along with Dan's father and brother, went out to the church area to look for him.

Snoopy was first sighted at around 8pm running past his owners' cars, where they had first parked for the morning walk, chased by two dogs.

Dan, of Peckham Walk, Cirencester, said: "Suddenly, he came running past in a panic, with two dogs chasing him. He had obviously stirred up the two dogs."

Dan and Kiri continued with their search and were about to give up when Dan's brother and father found, and finally caught, Snoopy at about 9.15pm.

Dan said: "Once he was with us, he seemed fine. But he is very tired and stiff and we are just going to give him a check over at the vets.

"We are very relieved. We were looking for him and hoping to get him back before evening and it turned out really well.

"We did not want him to stay out too late and get hit by a car.

"We would like to thank everyone for their help."
