AN UPMARKET London hotel has been forced to apologise to a Tetbury man after parking valets dumped his car at a supermarket overnight.
Nathan Elphick had paid an extra £35 for the secure parking service on top of the £400 bill for a night at the Radisson Edwardian Vanderbilt.
He only found out his Audi had been left at the Tesco car park when he got a snotty letter from the store two weeks later.
He said: "It is incredibly irresponsible of a hotel like Radisson to employ valets who take advantage of guests."
Mr Elphick and his wife Sarah had been there to celebrate her birthday.
The hotel manager investigated his complaint and the contract with the valet company, which had been used for 12 years, was terminated. The £35 parking fee was being refunded.
A spokesman said they believed a secure site was being used and that when it was full no more bookings would be taken. "We were absolutely appalled to hear what was happening."
