A CHEDWORTH couple have been granted permission to transform an old barn into their own gym despite local concern about wildlife and noise.
It is one of the only remaining unconverted barns in the Coln Valley and there was some local anxiety about the harm to wildlife living in the barn like bats and barn owls.
The barn, situated 200 metres from the couples home on Hills Farm, will be converted into a gym and extra living space.
Cllr David Broad said: "This site has caused a lot of controversy in Chedworth. We are used to barn owls and bats flying in and out but this proposal will mean it will be sealed up."
Neighbour Steven Scott-Smith told the planning committee: "The owner has told me that he intends to hold parties there which will cause a lot of noise."
