A JUDGE branded two Cotswold men childish after they appeared in court for their involvement in a bloody drunken brawl in a pub car park.

David Moisejevs, 31, from Rook Tree Farm, Down Ampney and Stephen Willie, 29, from Cliffords, Cricklade appeared at Swindon Crown Court on Monday alongside Ian and Luke Coram, 50 and 22, from Holdcroft Close, Blunsdon.

All four were lined up in the dock for fighting in the car park of the White Lion pub in Cricklade in the early hours of August 5 last year.

They had pleaded guilty to the charge of threatening behaviour on March 19.

The court heard how the disturbance alerted officers in Cricklade Police Station and one came out to discover the fight.

He reported that two of the men had lost their shirts and some had blood on them.

The officer added: "The melee was such that I couldn't make out who was punching with what fist but they were really going for each other.

"It looked like they were just hitting each other indescriminently."

The fight was stopped by the presence of the officer and they were all arrested and admitted to being involved. Both pairs blamed the other for starting the fight.

Moisejevs said he was attacked after trying to defend his friend Willie who was head-butted from behind.

Ian Coram however said someone had 'had a go at him' and he was punched and thrown to the ground.

Judge John McNaught told the four: "You ought to be thoroughly ashamed of yourselves.

"Grown men scrapping like small children, it was a ridiculous bit of behaviour. I feel drink had a part to play in this."

Each ws fined £200 and ordered to complete 100 hours of community service.
