A CIRENCESTER man was robbed at knifepoint on the way to the post office yesterday afternoon.
The 39-year-old was left badly shaken after being held up in Park Lane, yards from the post office in Castle Street.
His attacker, who made off with several hundred pounds, is described as a white male, in his late 20s, about 5ft 9ins and casually dressed.
Later that afternoon police attended at least one address in Melmore Gardens in the search for the assailant. Police dogs were used, although as yet no arrest has been made.
Witnesses to the armed robbery, which took place at about 2.30pm, should call Cirencester police on 0845 090 1234 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
