A HUSBAND and wife pair from Aldsworth, near Bibury, are simultaneously embarking on two new business ventures.
TV vet Joe Inglis, 42, and his wife, a science publisher, Jenny, 39, are using online funding sites to try to bring their business dreams to life.
Vet Joe is raising money for his new pet show app, Qtsy on crowdcube.com.
He said: “Running my own business allows me to work from home and take a much more active role in family life.
“I prepare the packed lunches and do the school run each morning and can move my working hours to look after the children when necessary.”
The couple, who now have three children, met when Joe was working as the resident vet on Blue Peter and Jenny was the Blue Peter science expert.
Now, with a young family to care for, being their own bosses seemed the best solution to a happy family life.
“Being able to juggle childcare around work is an enormous headache that Joe and I wanted to avoid. Running our own businesses enables us to be so much more flexible,” said Jenny.
Jenny is looking for people to pre-order magazines on kickstarter.com to help her raise the finances she needs to launch a new science magazine, Whizz Pop Bang.
The 36-page magazine will be packed full of exciting experiments, articles and science puzzles, all designed for six to -11-year-old children.
