COMMUNITY groups in the Cotswolds are being invited to bid for a share of a £100,000 fund for projects to enhance the wildlife and landscape of the Cotswold Water Park.
The money is being contributed by Cotswold Four Pillars Ltd after they were given the green light to build a hotel at Lake 6 on the Spine Road.
Cotswold District Council, as the local planning authority, is administering the way the £100,000 is spent.
CDC is inviting local organisations, charities, environmental groups and town and parish councils, to apply for a share of the funds.
Projects must help to conserve and enhance the Water Park or contribute to the overall management of the area. The deadline for applications in June 26.
CDC heritage and design manager Sophia Price said: "This is a great opportunity for local organisations to get involved in improving and enhancing the Water Park, which we are lucky enough to have on our doorstep.
"Projects may range from planting a hedgerow around a school playing field to creating a new woodland or putting up a bat box on the village hall."
For further information or an application form call Sophia Price on 01285 623000.
