North Cotswolds Young Cricketers 58-6 v Poulton U15s 59-0

Cirencester U15s 157-5 v Fairford U15s 84 all out

The young men from Cirencester and Poulton U15s cricket teams have booked their places in the District Cup final following big wins in their semi finals on Tuesday evening.

Both Poulton and Cirencester U15s were on the back of big losses at the weekend so were keen to turn things around.

Poulton were away at North Cotswolds Young Cricketers in Moreton-in-Marsh.

Fielding first they kept the home side to 58-6 off 20 overs and then proceeded to knock off the runs in 8 overs without losing a wicket.

Cirencester hosting Fairford went into bat and through some great batting from Joel Frost (95) and Mike Howell (29), amassed 157 runs for the loss of five wickets.

This was despite some excellent bowling and two wickets apiece for Jack Carr and Will Chapman.

Fairford struggled in their reply, losing wickets quickly as Cirencester fielded eight bowlers with wickets shared around including two each for Jack Chambers and Rufus Elsey.

Alexander Griffith, Will Chapman and Harvey New from Fairford fought back, but it wasn’t enough as they were all out for 84 with three overs to spare.
