A MYSTERIOUS sinkhole has appeared in Cirencester's Brewery car park, and the council are now taking action.
A Standard reader, who wished not to be named, sent in these pictures of a sinkhole which has suddenly appeared in the busy town centre car park.
Sinkholes are common where the rock below the ground surface is limestone or other carbonate rock, salt beds, or in other rocks that can be dissolved naturally by circulating ground water.
A spokesman from Cotswold District Council said: "Thanks for alerting us. We have passed the matter to our property services and they will deal with it."
