A BMW driver threw a hammer at the back of another car in a road rage incident in Cinderford earlier this week.
It happened on St Whites Road at the junction with Ruspidge Road at about 4.25pm on Tuesday, October 1.
A man driving an Audi Quattro was travelling along the road when he became aware of a black BMW travelling behind him at speed.
The driver is alleged to have flashed his lights and sounded his horn several times at the man in front.
Then, when the cars were queueing in traffic, the BMW driver wound down his window and launched a hammer at the back of the Audi.
It bounced onto the rear windscreen and smashed it before landing on the road.
As he drove away the Audi driver saw the driver of the BMW open his door and pick up the hammer before reversing and turning around in the car park of the White Hart pub.
The BMW then drove off towards the junction of St Whites Road and Valley Road.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or the BMW being driven in the area around the time of the incident should call 101, quoting incident 335 of October 1.
