A MOTORCYCLIST has died after a road accident on the A48 in Woolaston near Lydney.

The incident occured just after 7pm on Saturday, July 13 on the road between Chepstow and Lydney, when the bike collided with a van parked on the grass verge.

The 45-year-old man who was riding the orange Honda CBR motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle left the road and collided with a parked silver Vauxhall Combi van close to the Wollaston Inn.

The man's next of kin and the coroner have been informed.

The road was closed for several hours whilst investigations were carried out.

Anyone who witnessed the crash but is yet to speak to police should call 101, quoting incident 408 of July 13.
