THE Environment Agency issued the following flood warning at 4.25pm today for the Sherston Avon from Luckington to upstream of Malmesbury: "A band of rain will push into the area this afternoon and evening. This rain will be fairly fast moving with an average of between 10 and 15 mm and a possible maximum of 20 to 25 mm in some areas.
"This band of rain will clear the area by midnight followed by widespread showers.
"River levels on the Tetbury Avon at Brokenborough and Sherston Avon at Fosseway are currently falling but are expected to rise again in response to the forest rainfall.
"It is not advisable to travel unless absolutely necessary and do not drive through flood water."
