Like others, I was taught by Mrs. Walsh at Chesterton Primary School. She was truly inspirational and never forgotten. I remember especially camping in Dorset, putting on plays and making films. Like Nigel, I remember the ghost stories and her memories of her time growing up in India and Canada. I have no doubt she was one of the people who helped me become who I am. I know she inspired many others. My condolences to her family. We have lost a remarkable person. Richard Wilkins, London

Sad news indeed, she was my teacher in class 7, Chesterton Primary School, they say that you never forget a good teacher, well she wasn’t only good, she was the best, in her class it was never boring or particularly conventional, we built elastic band powered cars, grew peanuts on the windowsill , practised country dancing , read the BFG, and talked about Star Wars, we went camping on the south coast, canoeing in the sea , chopping fire wood, fishing and catching mackerel in the bay , l still to this day prepare fish the way she showed me , all those years ago in a field in Dorset. She also told terrifying ghost stories .By chance or fate, through work or pub visits we occasionally ran in to one another, it was always fun to exchange a few words . RIP Mrs Walsh. N. M. Berlin

So sorry to hear this. Pamela was such a lovely, bubbly lady, and mother of my school friend Katrina. My thoughts and prayers are with Katrina and Anna at this time.
With love and sympathy
