MESSENGER John Died peacefully at home in Siddington on 7th February aged 81 years. Formerly of Winstone he was a renowned cricketer who played for Duntisbourne, Birdlip and Chalford. He will be greatly missed by his partner Pam, brother Mike and Eileen, family and friends. John was apprenticed at Gloucester Aircraft as an aircraft electrician and worked for many years at RAF Kemble. He later worked for Gloucester and Cheltenham Health Authority as an electrician at Coney Hill Hospital, and on retirement was an invaluable volunteer in Holly House in Gloucester, winning an 'Unsung Hero' award in 2007. There will be a private service at Winstone Baptist Chapel followed by burial in St. Bartholomew's Churchyard, Winstone. Family flowers only, donation may be given in memory of John for the upkeep of St. Bartholomew's Churchyard.
