Alan Beckett Passed away peacefully in Elm Grove, on 21st March, 2019 aged 89. Much loved Husband of Audrey, Dad to Jacky and Andy, Father In Law to Heather. Loving Gramps to Karen and Richard, Kate and Shaun, Great Gramps to Charley, Becky, Megan and Emma. Funeral Service at Gloucester Crematorium on Monday, 8th April at 11 a.m. Thanks to the Community Nurses and all the Staff at Elm Grove. I had the honour, privilege and pleasure to work with Alan when he was the Chief Inspector and Force Training Officer for the Gloucestershire Constabulary. We also shared a similar history of Boys Service in the Army and Royal Engineers albeit over a decade apart.
He was a man with a great sense of humour and I thoroughly enjoyed working with and for him. He will be fondly remembered by many probationary Constables and former Police Cadets. I’m sure he will be greatly missed by his family and the many friends and former colleagues who knew him.
