BBC news presenter George Alagiah will speak at the University of Bath in Swindon on Wednesday, May 9, as part of the Swindon Festival of Literature.
He will discuss his book, A Home from Home, which he describes as the story of an Asian boy to an English man.
It is described as a direct and honest autobiography that explains how from being a young migrant, lonely and terrified, he made a successful transition to confident and widely respected Englishman.
It tells the story of Mr Alagiah's childhood migration from Sri Lanka to Ghana, then to an English boarding school, and his ensuing sink or swim crash course in becoming English.
He explores the way multiculturalism has developed in England over the past forty years, describing a separation of communities and discussing why he believes the approach isn't working.
Tickets are available in advance on 01793 466454 at £6 (£5 for concessions) and parking is free.
