A panel of judges have selected the finalists for the Pride of the Cotswolds Awards.
Representatives from Newsquest and sponsors Ecotricity and the Bathurst Estate made the decision on Tuesday, August 21.
Renishaw and Woodchester Valley winery and vineyard are also sponsoring the event and helped the judges make their decision.
The nominations were narrowed down to two or three finalists in each of the 12 categories, following a robust judging process.
Finalists were chosen based on the content of the nomination rather than the number of nominations received.
Categories include Teacher of the Year, School of the Year and Good Neighbour of the Year, with members of the public nominating their community heroes.
The aim of the awards is to honour those whose contribution to their employer, charity or community makes them truly exceptional.
An awards evening will be held at the New Lawn stadium, the Nailsworth home of Forest Green Rovers Football Club.
Events director for Midlands South and Gloucestershire, Sue Griffiths, said there had been a 'fantastic response'.
"Some very inspirational stories have come to light," she said.
