MAJOR work to replace the surface of the A419 adjoining the M5 at junction 13 takes place overnight on Monday July 16 and Tuesday July 17.

To complete the work safely and quickly Gloucestershire Highways will need to close the road to all traffic, with the exception of emergency services.

The A419 is an extremely busy stretch of road, so to reduce disruption to commuters the work is being undertaken overnight between the hours of 8pm and 6am only.

Following discussions with the Highways Agency, during these hours there will be no direct access west from the M5 on junction 13 to the A38, to allow for safe working.

Advanced road works signs informing drivers of the closure are being placed on the M5 prior to junctions 12 and 14 and on main roads joining the motorway in the area.

During the night time closure there will be a signed 20 mile diversion via Stroud and Hardwicke, and drivers are advised to seek local routes as appropriate.
