North Cotswold Tri & Run
Slaughter Valentine's 10k, Upper Slaughter
THERE were some excellent results at the annual Slaughter Valentine's 10k last Sunday.
First home for North Cotswold Tri & Run was Andrew Evans in an impressive 44.45 for third MV50 and 17th overall. Next home was Viv D'Alton in a new PB of 51.04 and again third FV50.
The improving Nikki Hitchcock also ran a new PB of 52.44 in her first official timed 10k race, while David Pyne's recent streak of parkrun PBs resulted in a well-earned 53:53.
Ann Hilary chose to run the event as part of a 20-mile training run in preparation for the three marathons in three days Jurassic Coastal Challenge in six weeks' time.
Darwin Day Marathon, Shrewsbury/Gravesend Cyclopark Marathon
STEVE EDWARDS travelled further afield to tackle two marathons over the weekend in bitterly cold conditions.
First up was the Darwin Day event in Shrewsbury where he recorded 3:25.19 for eighth place and third MV50.
The following day at the Cyclopark event in Gravesend he finished in almost the same time, 3:25.00 for second place and first MV50.
His overall marathon tally has moved to 767 as he strives to set a new 800 marathons landmark record later this year.
