Stratton Youth Round-Up
Shrivenham Royals U18s 2 Stratton Youth U18s 0
THE Stratton U18s frustrated champions Shrivenham for the entire first half with a superb defensive display and some great goalkeeping.
Stratton rarely threatened the home goal but Sam Grafton led the line really well, making a nuisance of himself throughout.
The score was 0-0 at the break, much to the annoyance of the home team who needed a win to clinch the title.
The second half was more of the same, Stratton soaking up the pressure and looking to counter attack quickly.
Shrivenham finally got their goal on 63 minutes when Callum Higginson pulled off a great save only for it to rebound for a tap-in.
It sounded like the home team had won the FA Cup! Stratton didn't drop off and kept pushing. As legs got tired, Shrivenham pounced again and went 2-0 up in the 80th minute.
Stratton did have a few chances but the home team saw the match out.
At full time, the Shrivenham coach congratulated the Stratton lads for giving them their hardest match of the season.
