A TEENAGE singing sensation from Wiltshire has been crowned the winner of a national TV talent search.
Shannon Saunders, who lives near Little Somerford, was voted for by thousands of viewers of the Disney Channel programme My Camp Rock 2 and stormed to victory at the results show last Friday.
The self-taught pianist and guitarist beat fellow contestants to bag the chance to star in her own music video for the TV show, which took its inspiration from new Disney movie Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam.
The 16-year-old has already gained a following online with more than 6,000 subscribers of her music on video-sharing website YouTube.
Shannon was shortlisted from hundreds of promising young stars in June and then specially selected by a Disney Channel panel to attend televised workshops where she had the chance to not only hone her skills with specialist vocal training, but also receive choreography and performance training from celebrity experts.
And last month, the Standard told how she had performed in front of celebrities at the iconic London music venue Koko.
Shannon wowed viewers with a mesmerizing performance of the Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam song Introducing Me, as she competed against three fellow finalists.
The former Wootton Bassett School pupil was told she had won the viewers vote at a surprise assembly in front of students and teachers last Monday.
She will go on to study music at Brighton Institute of Modern Music in September.
Check out Thursday's Standard for an interview with Shannon.
