A MOTHER has told a jury how a night out with a Cirencester man ended with him raping her in an alleyway outside a nightclub.
Christopher Singh, 24, of Shepherds Way, Cirencester, had met the woman at a village hall party and they went on together to a nightclub after it finished, Gloucester Crown Court was told.
Prosecutor Lynne Matthews alleged that when they left the club later Singh committed an*l rape upon the 34-year-old.
Miss Matthews said the man had drunk at least five glasses of wine at the party, and had carried on drinking later when she went to the nightclub with Singh.
"She admits that the wine did have an effect on her," said Miss Matthews.
"After she had been introduced to Mr Singh, she decided to go to a night club with him because she wanted a few more drinks after the party ended.
"She did not stay with the defendant exclusively at the nightclub and after having her first drink there recalls little of what happened until she found herself in an alleyway with him at about 3am in the morning."
Singh pulled down her pants and tights and an**ly raped her, Miss Matthews claimed.
In evidence via a CCTV link, the woman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, said that when they left the first party, Singh drove her to her home to get her bankcard because she had run out of money.
"I'm not sure how we decided to go to Cirencester, but stupidly, I had had a few drinks and I wanted the night to carry on," she said.
Singh went into her house with her to get the bankcard she said, and she had kissed him because she thought something was going to happen between them.
"But he didn't seem to want that and kept rushing me. He was almost hostile towards me," she said.
"When we got to the nightclub, I had a vodka and diet coke and maybe that drink sent me over the edge, I don't know.
"I don't remember much after that until I was in the alleyway and I don't know why we went outside.
"He just sort of bent me over and pulled my knickers and tights down and started having an*l sex with me.
"I was so shocked and in so much pain that I didn't say anything. I didn't know what to do and just waited for it to be over. It wasn't romantic but rough."
She was found on the ground near the front of the club and taken to the police station after she said she had been sexually assaulted.
"I felt kind of responsible because I didn't tell him to stop," she added. "But I didn't want to have sex with him. After what had happened when I kissed him I thought he didn't want to know.
"I didn't encourage him - I just froze to the spot."
Singh denies raping the woman on November 15, 2007. The case continues.
