A HOST of live music events taking place at a Cotswold pub will have an African theme after the organisers put up an authentic Moroccan marquee to host the shows.
The 200 square metre marquee at The Crown in the village of Cerney Wick, near South Cerney, will be in place for the summer shows over the next three months.
The Marquee is a traditional tent from Morocco and was loaned by Abdellah Bouhrazen who lives in the village.
The first live music event is taking place on Sunday, August 23 and will feature eight locals bands.
The marquee will also host a variety of other events such as a Moroccan food and drink day, as well as children’s workshops including arts and crafts, Arabic calligraphy and belly dancing lessons.
Many of the regulars at the pub are musicians and frequently put on impromptu performances for customers and organiser Jonathan Richards expects many to take to the stage throughout the next few months.
