Wiltshire Council has approved a planning application for 132 new homes in the north of the county.
The site is approximately 6.17ha of land across two fields located in the Filands neighbourhood, to the northeast of Malmesbury
The applicant, Bloor Homes, submitted the original proposal in February 2023, and has now received approval from Wiltshire Council.
The development will provide 132 homes of which 40% will be affordable housing.
It also includes land safeguarded for a nursery and a new network of pedestrian and cycle routes.
The homes will have gardens and private car parking spaces.
According to the application, the plans are in keeping with the layout and principles already discussed with the Town Council.
The materials will reflect the existing colour palette of Malmesbury to “to ensure a natural harmony and cohesion between new and existing buildings.”
It also states: “The site will be developed with the aim of reducing annual energy consumption, whilst providing energy in the most environmentally friendly way to reduce the annual CO₂ footprint.”
It will adjoin an existing Bloor Homes development, Filands View, which was constructed in 2016.
The land immediately east of the new site also has outline planning permission for 71 more dwellings.
