A MAN has suffered serious burns in a lorry fire yesterday morning.
At about 4am, emergency services were called to a layby on the A417 northbound where the vehicle was alight.
The driver, a man in his sixties, was treated at the scene and then taken to Swansea Hospital, where he is receiving treatment for his injuries.
It is believed that the lorry, which contained empty wooden pallets, parked in the layby between the Daglingworth turn and the Cowley roundabout at about 7pm on Wednesday.
Police have launched an investigation into how the fire started.
Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who has driven past the location around 4am yesterday and who may have seen something, or have dashcam footage of anything which may help with the investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 quoting incident 69 of August 15.
