YOUNGSTERS had their skills put to the test as they navigated a 3,000-acre play area packed with inflatables, rifle shooting and other activities at Cirencester Park over the weekend.
This year over 1,200 young scouts and guides from across the UK took up the second annual weekend challenge, organised by Strategy and Evolution, that also included live entertainment and a fair.
Wayne Bulpitt, UK chief commissioner, visited the events during the morning to try his hand at some of the activities.
In addition to the activity course, participants were treated to evening entertainment including Strategy’s Got Talent as well as a variety of local talents.
Sunday saw the return of the Strategy Funfair with crafts, fairground activities and more.
Lewis Dangerfield, event organiser, said: “It's hard to believe it's 12 months since our first Strategy and Evolution events. We're back this year to build on our successes and offer an even better quality experience to the 1000s of young people who attend.
“Week in, week out scouting in communities across the country gives young people the chance to learn new and exciting skills, in a fun and challenging environment.
“Our events give young people the chance to come together and interact and compete with their peers in a variety of challenges using the skills they have learnt in their time in scouting.”
