PUPILS from Leighterton Primary School joined veterans and dignitaries to mark Anzac Day.
Children were joined by members of The Royal British Legion and air cadets for the annual parade to mark the anniversary of the Gallipoli landings.
Deputy Lord Lieutenant Lord Vestey spoke to pupils and parents, and inspected the parade before it made its way to Leighterton cemetery where a service was held for all Australian and New Zealand Army Corps.
During the service, a number of wreaths were laid and pupils read out the names of those who had died during the landings.
The Gallipoli landings have been commemorated in Leighterton every year since 1931 except between 1940-45.
More than 44,000 allied troops, many from Australia and New Zealand, died during the disastrous landings at Gallipoli that began on April 25, 1915.
The Australian Flying Corps (AFC) had four training squadrons based in Gloucestershire and a total of 24 members of the Australian Flying Corps are buried in Leighterton.
