  • THE Chedworth Society annual general meeting originally scheduled for April 13 has been rescheduled for this Wednesday, April 27 at 7.30pm at the village hall. 
  • THE first of two Guiting Music Festival Outreach concerts will take place this Saturday evening at 7.30pm for 7.45pm with Chedworth Silver playing for a St George’s Day concert with traditional patriotic music to sing along to in the second half and a very varied program of solo, classical and modern classic music, even Glen Miller and Lady Gaga in the first half. Tickets £10 (under19s free) available from guitingfestival.org or phone 03336 663366.
  • TICKETS are also available for Guiting Music Festival’s following concert on Friday, April 29 which features the Behn String Quartet, Katie Oswin and Alicia Berendse (Violin), Lydia Abell (Viola), Ghislaine McMullin (Violoncello). Tickets for this concert are £15 with tickets for under 19s free, phone 03336 663366 or go to guitingfestival.org. 
  • CHEDWORTH village hall launched its new on line booking system last Thursday together with a new telephone number for bookings, 01285 343107. The new number will divert to the bookings person who will also have the dedicated laptop. The system was created by Iain Robertson and has been in development over several months with Myra Burridge and John Selway now fully trained in its operation. The bookings calendar will be available on line to further simplify bookings.   • CHEDWORTH Silver Band will be playing for a Queens 90th Birthday celebration at Yanworth this evening.
  • THE WI and the School were due to yarn bomb the village hall and St Andrews School yesterday in celebration of the Queen’s 90th birthday. It will remain until April 30.
  • THE WI have also been invited to the school for afternoon tea with the pupils and parents this afternoon at 2.15pm.
  • THE Chedworth Village tidy up and litter pick organised by Iain Robertson collected some 20 large bags of rubbish. Many thanks to everyone who took part.

  • JOIN the North Cotswold Ornithological Society on Saturday, April 23 for an easy three- mile walk for 'early birds' around the Northleach area from 7am -9am. Meet at Cotswolds Discovery Centre. Price £10 to include a full English breakfast afterwards at the Cotswolds Discovery Centre at the Old Prison in Northleach. To book please call 01451 861563.
  • A NEW class aimed at those who are less active and need help with balance or have medical conditions that need gentle exercise, starts on Tuesday, April 26. Denise Nethercott leads the class entitled ‘Fit for Life’ every Tuesday at 3pm for an hour at The Westwoods Centre. The first class will be a taster and free and will include tea and coffee. Thereafter the cost is £5 aper class. The class can be taken either sitting or standing. Northleach Town Council are introducing the class following support from Gloucestershire County Council.  
  • NORTHLEACH and District U3A’s next Cameo meeting is on Thursday, April 28 at 2pm at The Westwoods Centre when Nell Gifford, the co-founder with her husband of Gifford’s Circus, will be talking about her life in circus entertainment. For this meeting visitors are welcome, with a small admission charge of £2.
  • PLANT and cake sale in support of Northleach’s St Peter and St Pauls church on Sunday, May 1 at Union House, Market Place, Northleach GL54 3EJ. Home grown plants from local gardens and delicious home-made cakes available. Entrance £2 to include hot or cold drinks and cake. For children under 12 years, entrance costs £1.
