THE BATHURST Arms in North Cerney has closed temporarily.
It last opened on Sunday, February 28, and closed in the evening.
It is understood that the pub has been relieved of its previous managers Inn Churn Ltd, who held the lease of the property from Bathurst Estate.
The estate is hoping to re-open the pub with a new operator.
Bathurst Estate released a public statement on February 29, saying: “The Estate has been advised by its lessee Inn Churn Ltd that it has ceased trading at the premises.
“We are working with the Company and others to try to minimise the period of closure and to secure a sound long-term future for the pub.
“We would ask the pub’s customers to bear with us whilst we work to achieve this.”
Edward Allsop, of Bathurst Estate, said that the pub was “a valuable benefit to the community and to the estate” and that they were not looking to have it closed for very long.
