A Cotswold man who grew up in care and was told he would 'not achieve much' is now rubbing shoulders with celebrities as part of his work as a fashion model.
Liam Brown, who models under the name Christopher George, has worked alongside Cristiano Ronaldo's sister Elma Aveiro, been interviewed by Carrie Grant and met Earl Charles Spencer.
The 18-year-old started modelling four years ago, when asked by a friend to help out with a charity fashion show. Liam was asked to walk down the catwalk and was noticed by several designers who asked if he’d walk for them in the future.
Since then he has been featured in several magazines, and become the youth editor of one in Chicago. Closer to home he is a youth leader in Bibury, the village where he lives.
"Looking back at what Liam was like and now looking at him, it’s amazing and an honour to call him my son," said dad Simon.
Liam first came to live with Simon as a foster child when he was seven-years-old. A Special Guardianship Order, which is in between fostering and adoption, was granted when Liam was nine.
"Liam’s had his ups and downs like every child, but he chose to try and overcome them and keep pushing forward," said Simon.
"When I think about what he’s managed to do and the people he’s met, it's incredible.
"Now he’s at that stage he needs to choose what direction he wants to go in as a young man.
"Whatever he chooses, he will always put everything he has into it."
Liam is planning to do more modelling, but is not sure if this will be his long term career, and is currently studying engineering and Esports at college.
"Throughout his life he was told he would not achieve much, as kids that grow up in care or are adopted don't, which is completely untrue.
"My son has gone on to achieve things that others could only dream about."
